Divisional Director, Reed Exhibitions
Nick Pilbeam is the Divisional Director for Reed Exhibitions’ travel division, which includes the global portfolios of leading brands such as World Travel Market, ILTM and ibtm. Nick joined Reed Exhibitions in January 2015, bringing with him over 15 years of FTSE 100 experience in the travel industry from his previous roles with British Airways and Avios. At Reed Exhibitions he is responsible for over 20 travel industry events taking place throughout the year in Europe, The Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Nick has an MBA from Henley Business School, complemented with executive education at Harvard Business School (U.S.) and the China Europe International Business School (China).
Head of Travel Research, Euromonitor International
Caroline Bremner manages the global content strategy for the travel and tourism industry at Euromonitor International, which she joined in July 1996. Euromonitor International is a world leading market research company with over 40 years of experience. As a global thought leader, Caroline engages with clients, trade bodies and research partners, working with Analysts across 100 countries to drive strategic insights. She has played an integral role in creating the most extensive travel and tourism intelligence system as used by leading destinations, governments and travel brands around the world. Before joining Euromonitor, Caroline was a Tourist Guide in one of Edinburgh’s leading attractions. Caroline has a degree in French (MA (Hons), University of Edinburgh) and Postgraduate Diploma in European Marketing and Languages (PG Dip, Napier University, Edinburgh). Caroline received a Celebrating Her Global Award for Empowered Women in Tourism from ITB and the International Institute for Peace through Tourism in 2018.

Erik is the founder of the modern food tourism industry, and Executive Director of the World Food Travel Association, the world's leading authority on food and beverage tourism. He's also the publisher of Have Fork Will Travel and author of Culinary Tourism: The Hidden Harvest. He's also a highly sought speaker on food and beverage tourism. He has been featured in the New York Times, Newsweek and Forbes, and on CNN, Sky TV, the BBC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, PeterGreenberg.com, and other leading media outlets.
Membership & Partnerships Director, PRCA
Steve is Membership & Partnerships Director at the PRCA, Europe’s largest and most influential PR and communications membership body—challenging, supporting and raising standards. The PRCA promotes all aspects of public relations, communications work, helping teams, and individuals maximise the value they deliver to clients and organisations. The Association exists to raise standards in PR and communications, providing members with industry data, facilitating the sharing of communications best practice and creating networking opportunities. Alongside managing the membership and business services team at the PRCA, Steve also oversees membership recruitment and retention. Steve also manages the PRCA Partnership Programme.
Chairman and CEO of the Global Wellness Institute
Susie Ellis is chairman and CEO of the Global Wellness Institute, the non-profit research and educational resource for the global wellness industry. She is also co-founder, chairman and CEO of the Global Wellness Summit, an international gathering of senior executives and leaders, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year in Austria. She previously served as president of Spafinder Wellness, Inc.® the largest consumer marketing, media and gifting company for the spa and wellness industry. Recognized as a top authority on the worldwide wellness industry, Susie is the author of a popular annual wellness trends report, and is frequently quoted in major news outlets around the world. She holds an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is the recipient of the International Spa Association’s Visionary Award.

Lucy Jackson's credentials include working for three of the leading tailor made travel companies in the UK, and her career has progressed from a travel specialist with a focus on Latin America to one with a more global scale, organising educational trips across the continents. Lucy’s dream has always been to find a way to live and work abroad in a field that involved frequent travel, and she ticked all of these boxes in moving to Hong Kong and co-founding Lightfoot Travel’s second Asian hub in 2011.
Otto de Vries
CEO - Association of Southern African Travel Agents (ASATA)
Otto is the CEO of ASATA (Association of Southern African Travel Agents), recent Chairman of the World Travel Agents Association Alliance (WTAAA) and a board member of Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA).
He has been active in the travel and tourism industry for over 30 years, 20 of those in senior management roles in the inbound, retail and wholesale sectors.
He is a WTAAA delegate to the IATA Passenger Agency Global Joint Council (PAPGJC) and currently chair’s the WTAAA Air Committee. He leads the WTAAA delegation in the task force reviewing the governance of the Passenger Agency Programme. Closer to home he actively participates in the National Tourism Stakeholder Forum (NTSF) and through the TBCSA worked on several committees that focused on the Tourism Sector Code amendments; amendments to the South African Immigration Act and the Market Access/ Regulatory Environment Working Committee of the Department of Tourism. ASATA represents almost 95% of the South African travel industry, in terms of market share and its primary role is to interface with key opinion leaders in the industry and senior Government officials in representing its Members on all issues of common interest. This includes thought leadership, governance, compliance, policy, planning, operational and regulatory issues that ensure the ongoing sustainability and growth of the travel industry.
Director of Destinations and Sustainability - ABTA Ltd. The Travel Association
Nikki White is ABTA’s Director of Destinations & Sustainability with responsibility for destination government liaison, sustainability, operations, crisis management and health & safety in destinations. Nikki chairs a number of committees, including the Federation of Tour Operators. Nikki represents the UK on ECTAA’s destinations and sustainability committee, sits on the WTM Advisory Board and is a judge for the Responsible Tourism Awards. Nikki has gained an impressive grasp of travel and tourism strategy over her years as Head of Strategy and Development at travel and leisure marketing experts Fox Kalomaski. Here she worked with a number of destinations as well as specialist agents, tour operators and airlines devising a range of strategic policies. Nikki’s expertise in sustainable tourism has been enhanced by her completion of a Masters degree in Leadership for Sustainable Development.
Dr. Rebecca Hawkins
Managing Director, RHP Ltd & Senior Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University
Rebecca has worked in travel and tourism for 25 years. A passionate advocate for responsible tourism, she works with businesses to enhance their positive environmental and social contribution; with destinations to bring out the stories about what makes them special; and with trade associations to refine the principles of responsible tourism and support their integration into everyday tourism practices.

Outstanding Contribution to the Industry Award judge
Tracey has worked in the travel industry for over 25 years, having started her career in tour operation before joining city PR firm PGC in the 1990’s . She was a founding Director of Internet PR specialist, dotcom PR, which was awarded the title Docklands Business Club Company of the Year 2000, for its early innovations in online PR technique and e-strategies. Tracey has worked extensively throughout her career with the Government of Gibraltar and since 2002 has headed up its UK tourism team. Since 2006 she has been the Chair of the Association of National Tourist Office Representatives (ANTOR) which supports and lobbies the role played by government funded tourism bodies within the industry. In this capacity Tracey represents the Associations 60 member countries on the WTM Advisory Council.
Senior Exhibition Director, WTM London
Outstanding Contribution to the Industry Award judge
Simon is a dynamic leader and together with the team they constantly look to innovate, delivering new facets and extending brand reach across media including digital and online opportunities as well as delivering return on investment for all participants at the live events. WTM London 2017 facilitated a record £3.1 billion in travel industry deals and saw a record number of buyers (10,500) from the WTM Buyers’ Club attend. WTM London is part of the World Travel Market portfolio of events* that facilitate more than $7 billion of travel industry deals annually. As part of the WTM Portfolio management team, Simon helps ensure consistency of message, approach and allows Reed Exhibitions the opportunity to learn more about our clients’ business objectives to find solutions from a range of products to suit their requirements and deliver a high return on investment. He has worked extensively in India and Middle Eastern markets. Previous experience includes working in two other large media companies, United Business Media and EMAP, working across exhibitions and publishing events. A former Captain and Officer of the British Army, Simon served for four years in the Cheshire Regiment (Infantry Regiment). He has played rugby extensively and is now a keen supporter.
Alessandra Alonso MBA, MSc
Founder, Women in Travel
Alessandra is the founder of women empowerment focussed, social enterprise Women in Travel (CIC). A senior professional with 20 years of experience in and around the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality industry, Alessandra started her career as a trainee in Tourism at the European Commission. Having held senior positions in prestigious companies including The World Travel & Tourism Council and KPMG she subsequently pursued her passion for supporting women and diversity more generally in the industry by setting up consultancy Shine and co-founding the Shine Awards for Women’s Achievement in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality in 2004. Recognised as a trail-blazer in the sector, Shine mentored and coached hundreds of female mentees from the sector and run highly successful tourism skills programmes across the UK, between 2003 and 2010. The Shine Awards remain the original women focussed awards and still run today through sector skills council People1st. While continuing her activity as coach and consultant, Alessandra’s commitment to gender led her to lunch a women in travel focussed programme at World Travel Market in London. Since 2014 the event has grown to a half –day programme and 4 countries, covering WTM London, Arabian Travel Market, Africa Travel Week and WTM Latin America (2019).
President of Advisory Board, WTM Latin America/Reed Exhibitions
After nearly 30 years as an Executive on the airline industry (last position as Country Manager for Air France KLM in Brazil), Adriana decided, of her own volition in 2017, to give a new direction to her career, and to face a sabbatical period that only lasted a Saturday! Today she is the President of the Advisory Board of WTM Latin America - a Reed Exhibitions Travel portfolio company. A Brazilian that lived in Europe for some years, with a degree in Foreign Trade, specialization in Disruptive Strategy by Harvard Business School and post-MBA in Boards of Directors and Corporate Governance by Saint Paul Business School, and who today works for diversity and inclusion in the travel industry.
London Director, Travel Massive and Marketing Manager, IAG Cargo
London Director of the global travel industry networking group Travel Massive since June 2017, Matthew has played a key role in growing the community to over 50,000 members. In addition, Matthew is a full-time employee of International Airlines Group where he is focused on establishing IAG Cargo as a globally recognised brand in the logistics community post the merger of British Airways World Cargo, Iberia Cargo, bmi Cargo, Vueling Cargo and Aer Lingus Cargo. An accomplished public speaker, conference appearances include delivering a keynote at EyeforTravel Amsterdam 2018, Campaign Magazine’s Digital Marketing Exchange, Social Media London Live and speaking at the National Hotel Marketing Conference. Matthew, whilst with Choice Hotels in 2013, was also recognised as one of the travel industry’s 30 under 30 in TTG’s “Tomorrow’s Travel Leaders” initiative.
Carol Hay, MSc
Director of Marketing UK & Europe, Caribbean Tourism Organisation
With her rich experience in the global tourism sector, Carol Hay has directed multi-national marketing portfolios spanning destination branding, product development, sustainable tourism development, public relations, crisis management and social media. Carol has served as Director of Marketing UK & Europe for the Caribbean Tourism Organization for more than 9 years. This role follows a fruitful stint as Director of Marketing UK & Europe for the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority. In fact, for 25 years, Carol has filled senior roles within vital tourism and promotions organisations: The Jamaica Tourist Board, BWIA International Airways and Jamaica Promotions Corporation. Her wealth of knowledge positions her as a sought after Influencer and Speaker to Global Tourism audiences, specifically in the areas of female leadership, destination branding and competitiveness.

Devika is a young and dynamic media professional who has helped change the B2B media landscape in India. Devika is one of the pioneers of digital, message based and social media offerings in the tourism and hospitality industries. Working on innovative yet practical ways to disseminate news, her revolutionary development TravelTV.News led to the beginning of quick and simple news videos on the go. Passionate about tourism, Devika has worked with various associations to promote India Tourism internationally. Her 360 degree engagement of the tourism industry has resulted in helping launch various tourism initiatives under her stead.
Mary Kemp Clarke
Vice President, WFTGA
A fully trained and qualified Blue Badge Tourist Guide accredited by the Scottish Tourist Guides Association since 1999, Mary has the confidence, experience and energy to show visitors from diverse backgrounds around the whole of Scotland. Based in Edinburgh, she guides with enthusiasm, enjoyment and considerable knowledge. Since 2001, Mary is also a dedicated Trainer and Facilitator in guiding skills, and is the former Course Director for the Blue Badge Scottish tourist guide qualification. Accredited by the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) as a Lead International Trainer since 2008 and as a Trainer for the European Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (FEG) since 2009, Mary trains tourist guides in Europe and around the world. Elected onto the Executive Board in January 2017, Mary is the WFTGA Vice President.

In a career spanning almost 25 years, Toby has devoted himself to promoting Travel & Tourism around the world. Toby is currently the Global VP Communications for the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), responsible for promoting the economic and social benefits of the travel sector globally. As part of the leadership team, he has helped to reposition WTTC as the global authority on Travel & Tourism and the major force for change in the sector. He has been employed by WTTC in a range of Communications, Marketing and Advocacy roles since 2011. Most recently he was the Executive Director of Uniting Travel, a global advocacy body for the travel sector.

Paul holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, is a Fellow of the Institute of Travel & Tourism and Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Steven is an independent Marketing Consultant with over 20 years’ experience in the travel industry. During his career, Steven has worked for Tui, Virgin, Monarch, Scenic and Emerald Waterways and held Marketing Director roles with Kuoni and Shearings. In 2018 Steven established his own travel and leisure marketing consultancy, Peaks Marketing & Digital. Peaks provide strategic marketing and digital consultancy to the travel industry, from creative brand strategies through to tactical campaigns, website development and marketing audits. Steven is currently working as a brand consultant for On the Beach having previously advised Stagecoach Bus on their digital strategy.
Founder, Earth Changers
Vicky’s worked in tourism for over 23 years, and sustainable tourism for over 13, in destinations, marketing and ecommerce. She’s headed up operations abroad and online for major tour operators like Tui and Virgin Holidays, online travel agents and media, in package and specialist holidays, ski, tours, charity challenges and voluntourism, NGOs and sustainable tourism accreditation organisations. She’s a qualified ranger in Africa, charity challenge tour leader, and acclaimed academic for her published MSc Responsible Tourism Management thesis on the online marketing and greenwashing of volunteer tourism. She currently sits on the Trustee board for charity SEED Madagascar, is on the development team for the Global and European Ecotourism Networks and is an Ambassador for the UK Government Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) Year of Green Action.

Tracy Halliwell joined London & Partners from Visit London, the capital’s global marketing organisation. At London & Partners, Tracy heads up London’s Tourism division, managing the event solutions team and a proactive global sales team focused on attracting discretionary business, cultural & sporting events to the capital. At the same time Tracy works with city stakeholders and member organisations to develop and build London’s tourism and events offering. In 2013 Tracy was awarded the Eventia Outstanding Achievement honour and named in the 2013, 2014 and 2015 Event 100 list of the most influential people in the industry. Prior to joining London & Partners Tracy had over 20 years’ experience in senior sales and marketing positions in the hospitality industry including Vice-President of Sales EMEA for Millennium and Copthorne Hotels, Global Sales Director for Thistle Hotels (then the largest hotel operator in London), Senior Vice-President Sales & Marketing North America for Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts, as well as numerous property-based Director of Sales & Marketing roles within London and the UK. Tracy was awarded an MBE for services to business tourism in 2014.

Jeremy Smith is a writer, speaker and sustainable tourism consultant studying the transformative potential of the travel industry and its potential for supporting destination and social resilience. He is the author of Transforming Travel - realising the potential of sustainable tourism and Clean Breaks - 500 New Ways to See the World; and he edits Travindy.com the travel industry sustainable tourism news site. He writes a fortnightly blog on sustainable tourism for World Travel Market and WTTC’s monthly Tourism for Tomorrow newsletter. He has written briefing papers for organizations including the UK National Parks, Travel Foundation, PATA and the European Travel Foundation. He delivers regular keynote speeches for destinations and companies; is a member of Rotterdam’s International Advisory Board; and provides ongoing sustainable tourism consultancy to Tripadvisor.

Bruce Martin is Founder & Managing Director of Ginger Juice, an award-winning social media agency specialising in travel and tourism. Ginger Juice delivers high-quality social media for a wide range of B2C and B2B organisations including South African Tourism, Macao Tourism and Gold Medal/Travel 2. Bruce is also the Managing Director of Travel Gossip – the UK’s largest and most active online community for travel professionals; with over 17,000 Facebook Group members and a well-established travel agent roadshow offering. Bruce is also a leading provider of social media training and has presented at several events around the world including World Travel Market, Arabian Travel Market, ABTA, Advantage Travel Partnership and Global Travel Group conferences and has had many social media articles published. Prior to launching Ginger Juice in 2013, Bruce worked for 20+ years in the UK travel industry in areas such as travel eLearning, recruitment & tour operations.
